“We broke normal routine in Israel… and reached millions.”
Standing Together writes to supporters.
Last week, our activists stormed into the live broadcast of Big Brother Israel wearing shirts that said “leave Gaza” and shouting a message that our government is starving Palestinians in Gaza, sacrificing the hostages, and sending soldiers to die. We shattered the illusion that life here can go on as usual. We forced what is happening in Gaza into the center of the conversation. And it worked!

Everyone watching was confronted with the reality of our government’s actions – and the moment made headlines and reached millions of people on social media and traditional media. Many of those watching understood exactly why we were there; they saw through the distraction and felt the urgency with us. Even after our activists were dragged off stage, the production crew, the security guards, even the man at the parking lot gate told us in their own words: We want this terrible war to end, and we want everyone to come home.
But we didn’t stop at Big Brother. On Monday in Jerusalem, we disrupted the inauguration of the Knesset Museum, and yesterday dozens of activists glued themselves to the floor at Israel’s Ben-Gurion airport, spilled flour on the ground, and shouted messages against the war. We’re disrupting routine across Israel, because there can’t be business as usual right now. We need to do everything in our power to end this war.
We have also been holding protests in Palestinian towns across the country, creating a safe space for Palestinian citizens to come out and protest, to raise their voices against this war, and to know that they are not alone. These demonstrations are breaking the silence in places the government would rather ignore, and they show that Jews and Palestinians can stand in solidarity in times of crisis.

Our government is convinced that we will give in to exhaustion and despair and let them drag us toward more bloodshed, but they are wrong. We are making sure this war cannot be ignored. But to sustain this fight, we need your help.
