Upcoming Bristol Friends of Standing Together events: 6 December, 14 December, and 9 January
The Bristol branch of UK Friends of Standing Together has upcoming events on 6 December, 14 December, and 9 January.
🗣 Leafleting
This coming Friday, 6 December, like every Friday, we will be leafleting at the Wills Memorial Building at Bristol University between 12:30 and 1:30pm. If you would like to join, please get in touch.
🕊 Next Vigil
On Saturday 14 December, from 3pm to 4pm, we will hold one of our regular vigils for peace, at the Cascade Steps by the Fountains. Join us to echo the call for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, a release of the hostages, a de-escalation of wider conflict, and peace in the region. We will be reading out statements from Standing Together and others. If you want to speak or have something to read out, let us know.
We will hold a planning meeting for the upcoming public meeting after the vigil, if you want to get more involved.
🟪 Hear Standing Together Activists Speak in Bristol
We are very pleased to announce that we will have two activists from Standing Together addressing us by video call on Thursday 9 January in Tony Benn House, Victoria Street, BS1 6AY. We will be hearing Rula Daood, a Palestinian citizen of Israel and a national co-director of Standing Together, and Itamar Avneri, a Jewish Israeli and a coordinator of the Standing Together´s organising department, about what Standing Together is, where it came from, and what it has been doing in the last few months, with time for questions, comments and discussion. We will have a soft start from 6.30pm, with speakers joining us from 7pm.
