Thousands rally in Tel Aviv as Standing Together steps up direct action

Standing Together writes to supporters…

Our resistance to the annihilation war and the starvation is dramatically growing! On Thursday 31 July, we stood together, over 10,000 Jews and Palestinians, in Tel Aviv to raise our voices against our government’s deliberate starvation of millions in Gaza, against the ongoing annihilation, and for an immediate and complete ceasefire and hostage deal. We at Standing Together led a broad coalition of peace and anti-government organizations, marking the start of a major turning point in the anti-war movement in Israel. We brought together a big tent of voices calling for an end to this war—for the Palestinians enduring an unfathomable catastrophe, for the hostages our government continues to abandon, and for all of us living here who deserve a future rooted in life, not death and despair.

This is a critical moment. Help us keep building a powerful movement for change and support our crowdfunding campaign today:
Support the growing movement against starvation and war

After the protest, we marched to the headquarters of the ruling Likud party and blocked the road leading to it. The police responded with alarming violence, even more brutal than usual. Four activists were arrested, and one was hospitalized after a police vehicle ran over her foot.

We’re not stopping there. On 1 August, we stood in protest in multiple Palestinian towns and villages around the country to say – NO to starvation, NO to destruction, YES to a full ceasefire deal, YES to life.

There is an awakening happening in recent days in our society, in both Jewish and Palestinian communities. A growing awareness of the atrocities in Gaza and the toll this war of destruction is taking on all of us. And with it, a growing determination to fight back.

At Standing Together, we have been leading the movement against the catastrophe in Gaza from the start. We are building coalitions and mobilizing thousands, locally and nationally, to end this reality and create a different future. This is not happening by accident. It is the result of relentless grassroots organizing, built over years through our 12 local chapters, 14 student chapters, and strong presence on social media and in the streets.

None of this would be possible without the support of thousands of donors from here and around the world. The tide is turning, but the work is far from over. We need to stop the atrocities now, and we need to move our society toward a future of peace, justice, and equality.
