Standing Together leaders bring message of joint struggle for peace and equality to UK meetings

Around 700 people attended public and by-invitation meetings in London, Cambridge, Oxford, Nottingham, Sheffield, and Bristol to hear Standing Together leaders Amin Amara and Uri Weltmann talk about the movement’s efforts to resist war, occupation, and racism, and fight for peace, equality, and social justice for all in Israel-Palestine.

Amin and Uri also met with numerous MPs, spoke to several community organisations, and joined UK Friends of Standing Together’s contingent on the national demonstration against the war on 17 May, called by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

At the public meetings, they spoke about the importance of a solidarity movement that offers direct support to Standing Together’s activity on the ground, whilst also campaigning for policies from our own government that align with our shared values.
