Standing Together activists elected as local councillors in Haifa and Tel Aviv

Municipal elections were held in Israel on Tuesday 27 February. Standing Together supporters stood as part of local initiatives in Haifa and Tel Aviv.

In Haifa, Sally Abed, one of Standing Together’s Palestinian leaders, was elected to the council as part of the Haifa Majority slate, while Itamar Avneri was elected to Tel Aviv-Yafo council as part of the Purple City initiative.

We send our congratulations to Sally and Itamar, who will be strong voices on their city councils for workers’ rights, housing justice, climate justice, and Jewish-Arab equality.
