Help Standing Together’s campaign to end the war
Standing Together’s National Co-Directors Alon-Lee Gree and Rula Daood write to supporters.
As part of our end-of-year campaign, Reaching Critical Mass in 2025, we’re spotlighting one of the vital projects your support will make possible:
The Campaign for Peace & the End of the War and Occupation.
Last week, we took a bold step in this campaign. We launched a powerful billboard campaign, commissioning hundreds of billboards across the country to show the public the reality of the war in Gaza. Our media does not show the reality of starvation and degradation in Gaza, and it does not talk about the heavy price we are paying as a society for this war that is being perpetuated by the extremist settlers in our government. These billboards displayed stark images of hungry Palestinian children, funerals in Israel, and clear messages calling for the end of settlements and war.
Alongside the billboard campaign, we held a massive rally, with thousands of people gathering to demand an end to the war, the return of the hostages, and a halt to the starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.
Read a testimony from Adam Akkad, a Standing Together organizer from Haifa:
“The demonstration held on Thursday was incredibly moving, especially in a reality where I witness killing, destruction, and abandonment on a daily basis. It was inspiring to see over a thousand people come together and deliver the clear message: Either we end the war, or the war will end us.
It was especially moving to see a Jewish woman and a Palestinian woman leading the demonstration, shouting out the pain that we all share together. Alongside the emotion and the success, there are still challenges, such as dealing with the police, who made it difficult for us to hold the march. In addition, though in the end we succeeded in getting media coverage of the rally, it required a tremendous effort from skilled professionals. Finally, there was the challenge of the large mobilization of activists and supporters from outside Tel Aviv, which involved organizing buses from all over the country. We need all the support we can get in order to continue our efforts.”
Adam Akkad is a Palestinian community organizer for the Haifa branch of Standing Together and the University of Haifa student chapter of Standing Together.
Take it from Adam: To grow this movement, we need your help.
Donate now to help us grow our Jewish-Palestinian movement against the war and for peace.
Your contribution will help us scale up these actions, bring more people into the movement, and ensure that the voices calling for peace cannot be ignored. Together, we can create a future of peace and justice.
