We will hear from Bassam Aramin, a Palestinian father, and Elana Kaminka, an Israeli mother. Bassam's ten-year-old daughter, Abir, was killed by an Israeli border policeman outside her school, while Elana's twenty-year-old son, Yannai, was killed by Hamas on 7 October 2023. Despite their profound grief, both Bassam and Elana have chosen a unique and courageous path: to transform their pain into a force for reconciliation, dialogue, and peace.
Together, they will share their deeply personal stories and reflect on what it means to recognise the humanity in the other amidst conflict. The discussion will include an audience Q&A.
