Enough is enough! (2 September)

As hundreds of thousands protest and strike in Israel, Standing Together reports on its latest work.

The suffering must end!

Yesterday, we were devastated and outraged to hear that six hostages were murdered in captivity – people who were alive just a few days ago and could have been saved through a deal! Instead, our government prioritizes control over the Philadelphi Corridor and is clinging to power at any cost, while Ben Gvir’s police attack protesters calling for a deal to be made before more hostages are killed. Palestinians in Gaza are still deeply suffering from this brutal war, and Palestinians in the West Bank are facing heavy raids, displacement, and violence as the Israeli army conducts the largest military operation in the West Bank since the second intifada, – with over 30 Palestinians in the West Bank killed since the raids began.

Enough is enough. We refuse to stay silent while the government continues to gamble with our lives and destroy the future for both Palestinians and Jews living in this land. Yesterday, we stood with over 500,000 people from across the country who took to the streets demanding an end to this horrific war, the return of the hostages, and the resignation of the current politicians in power! We need an urgent ceasefire and hostage deal to bring the hostages home, end the suffering in Gaza, and prevent further escalations of a regional war. Today, we are continuing to go out and protest across the country, and we won’t stop!

We must turn heartbreak into rage. We must turn rage into action. And through action, we must create hope. Because despair is a privilege, and hope is our lifeline. Join our global community Friends of Standing Together to support our fight to build a different future here for all of us.
